Fans of ITV's compelling thriller Code of Silence have received encouraging news after actress Rose Ayling-Ellis provided an update on the programme.
The six-part series captivated viewers last year, chronicling the story of deaf catering worker Alison Woods (Rose Ayling-Ellis), who found herself caught up in a criminal investigation.
When DC Ashleigh Francis (Charlotte Ritchie) recruited her to lip-read discussions between dangerous criminals, her interpretations proved crucial to advancing the police enquiry.
Yet matters became complicated when she developed feelings for the primary suspect, Liam Barlow (Kieron Moore). Following the series' dramatic conclusion, ITV viewers were delighted to learn a second series had been commissioned.
During an appearance on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday (March 5), the 31-year-old was discussing her forthcoming novel when the topic shifted to Code of Silence, reports the Mirror.

Naga commented: "In your new television series, you are a deaf character, obviously, there's a second series that's being commissioned. Do you think it was received the way you would've liked it to have been received, the first series?"
Rose replied: "Yeah, it went beyond what I thought would happen. Code of Silence is going to be filming for series two soon, this year! So I'm excited to get back to work.
"The lip-reading bit is the really hard one to get right because most of the time you're guessing, you're trying to work out, and it always happens so quickly in your mind. To do a TV show and try to show that, we worked so hard on that."
Naga praised the intelligent construction of the show, noting her constant need to assemble sentences. The BBC presenter remarked: "It just shows how quickly your mind has to work in Code of Silence."
Rose responded: "Yeah, and that's why I'm always so tired at the end of the day, and you want to go to bed because it's a lot."
