ARSENAL ARE NOW KEEN TO SIGN DEFENDER WHO WAS THE WORST RATED PLAYER ON THE PITCH VS TOTTENHAM RECENTLY

Arsenal are already working on their plans for the summer transfer window.

Andrea Berta signed eight new players last summer, and that has helped the Gunners become the favourites to win all four competitions.

The focus now for Mikel Arteta is on what happens on the pitch, but Berta is getting himself ready for another big transfer window.

The latest name linked with a move to Arsenal is Borussia Dortmund star Daniel Svensson.

Arsenal are interested in signing Daniel Svensson

Svensson only joined Borussia Dortmund last summer, but he has made a fantastic name for himself.

The Swede has played 30 games for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions, and many of his performances have been impressive.

Svensson’s only negative this season came in a game against Arsenal’s North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in the Champions League.

The 23-year-old was shown a red card after just 26 minutes, and that earned him a 4.7/10 rating on Sofascore – the worst among all the players who started that game.

Despite that, there is a fair bit of interest in Svensson, with clubs like Leeds United and Inter Milan interested in signing him in the summer.

Bild have revealed that Arsenal have the left-wing-back on their list too, and he could be available for a fee of €30 million at the end of this season.

That is not a big fee at all for the Premier League leaders, but do they need him?

Arsenal don’t need Daniel Svensson

Svensson is naturally a left-back but has played as a wing-back all season for Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal do not need reinforcements in that role.

They have Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly already, while Piero Hincapie is also expected to be signed permanently at the end of this season.

It may well be true that Arsenal like him as a player, but it would make zero sense for the Gunners to splash money on another left-back.

The North Londoners should look for a right-back instead, with reports claiming that Ben White could leave the club this summer.
