BARRON TRUMP 'SAVED FEMALE FRIEND'S LIFE' IN LONDON
Barron Trump saved the life of a woman he saw being attacked on a FaceTime call by ringing 999, a court heard.
The US president’s youngest son called police when he saw the woman being “beaten up” by a man alleged to have been Matvei Rumiantsev, a Russian former MMA fighter.
Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London heard Mr Rumiantsev, 22, was jealous of Mr Trump’s relationship with the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Mr Trump, 19, allegedly enraged the defendant by trying to phone the woman on the evening of Jan 18 last year.
Later, in the early hours of the morning, Mr Trump and the woman managed to connect by video call.
Mr Rumiantsev is alleged to have grabbed the woman’s hair and pushed her to the floor during the call, shouting: “You are not worth anything.”
The court was told that Mr Rumiantsev called the woman a “slut” and a “whore” before kicking her in the stomach.
In reaction, Mr Trump dialled 999 and was put through to City of London Police, Metro reported.
‘It’s really an emergency’
In a recording of the call played to jurors, Mr Trump said: “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”
But the US president’s son was then reprimanded for not answering questions.
“Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions,” the call handler said. “If you want to help the person, you’ll answer my questions clearly and precisely, thank you. So how do you know her?”
Mr Trump answered: “I met her on social media. She’s getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don’t know what could have happened by now.”
Mr Trump later added: “So sorry for being rude.”
Officers attended the address, where the woman told police: “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son.”
The woman called Mr Trump again to allow him to speak to police.
He told them: “I called you guys – that was the best thing I could do. I wasn’t going to call back and threaten things to him because that would just make the situation worse.”
‘He helped save my life’
Speaking in court, the woman said: “He [Barron Trump] helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.”
Mr Rumiantsev is charged with raping her on two occasions, assault, actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, all of which he denies.
The woman told the court the Russian would have sex with her after making her drink alcohol, later saying to her: “You never want to do this with me so I make you drink and do this to you.”
Serena Gates, prosecuting, said Mr Rumiantsev had written a letter to her which urged her to withdraw the allegations.
She withdrew her statement to police, before later retracting the withdrawal.
Sasha Wass KC, defending, suggested that the woman’s accounts of the alleged attacks were “untrue and fabricated”.
The trial continues.
