FULL LIST OF FLIGHTS CANCELLED FROM MANCHESTER AIRPORT TODAY

Manchester Airport cancelled ten flights today. The US-Israeli attack on Iran over the weekend has entered a fifth day, resulting in worldwide disruption and airspace closures. On March 2, a total of 3,147 flights were cancelled around the globe.

Flights continued to be disrupted yesterday, March 3. According to FlightAware, over 1,891 flights were cancelled yesterday and over 9,295 flights were delayed. Major Middle Eastern airlines Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways have suspended flights for several days due to airspace restrictions.

A number of flights will be operating today, as thousands of British nationals return home. Emirates will run a flight from Dubai to Dublin later on Wednesday, Ireland's foreign affairs minister has said. Emirates is operating a total of seven flights from Dubai to the UK, while Etihad has two Abu Dhabi departures. Virgin Atlantic will operate a flight from Dubai to London Heathrow.

A UK Government charter flight will repatriate Britons from Muscat at 7pm GMT, but it has been reported there will be no major evacuation of the 130,000 British nationals who have registered their presence in the Middle East. That means most stranded people are reliant on getting a seat on a commercial flight.

Priority for the evacuation flight will go to the most vulnerable, and British nationals in Oman will be contacted. Anyone who registered their presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is now in Oman is asked to register for a place on a flight, according to the Foreign Office.

130,000 people from Britain have registered their presence in the Middle East, as the Foreign Office said it was working with airlines on more routes.

Affected British nationals are urged to stay across the latest updates from their airline or tour operator and review their travel insurance policies before travelling.

Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said: "The safety and security of British citizens is our top priority, and we know that hundreds of thousands of people have been affected by the conflict and escalation in the Middle East and the Gulf. This includes holiday makers, business travellers and visitors who can’t return home because of airspace closures or strikes.

"That's why we have the Foreign Office crisis centre that is open 24/7 and why we've asked people to sign up to register your presence, so that we can make sure there is up to date information and to follow travel advice across the region.

"But most importantly, we are working with airlines, with the travel industry, with governments across the region to make sure that there will be safe ways for people to return home."
