In a statement, the Bahrain-based energy company confirmed that its group operations had been affected by the attack.
“The company hereby serves notice of force majeure on its group operations, which have been affected by the ongoing regional conflict in the Middle East and the recent attack on its refinery complex,” the company said.
Despite the disruption, the company reassured residents and businesses that local fuel supplies would not be affected.

Bapco Energies said proactive contingency plans were already in place to ensure domestic demand continues to be met. “The company clarified that all local market needs are fully secured according to the proactive plans in place, ensuring the continuity of supplies and meeting local demand without impact,” the statement added.
The refinery complex is Bahrain’s primary refining facility and plays a critical role in the country’s energy infrastructure. Any interruption to operations could potentially affect regional fuel supply chains, even if domestic demand remains protected.
The facility recently underwent a major expansion under the Bapco Modernisation Programme, a $7 billion initiative that represents one of the largest industrial investments in Bahrain’s history.

The project was designed to significantly increase the refinery’s capacity to between 380,000 and 400,000 barrels per day while enabling the production of higher-value refined fuels.
While the full extent of the operational impact has not yet been disclosed, the declaration of force majeure signals that the company may be unable to fulfil certain contractual obligations due to circumstances beyond its control as the regional situation continues to evolve.
